Candles that contain hazardous ingredients, such as fragrance or essential oils, must be labeled in accordance with CLP regulations.

CLP labels should include product identifiers, warning or hazard pictograms, warning statements, allergen information, signal words, precautionary statements, and supplier information.

Label placement
Label placement
CLP labels should be firmly affixed to the packaging and be easily visible and readable horizontally when the package is set down.

Label size
Labels should be at least 52 millimeters by 74 millimeters, which is roughly two inches by three inches.

Signal words
The signal word will either be "Warning" or "Danger" depending on what H phrases are present.

Pictograms
There are nine pictograms in total, but only two appear regularly on candle labels: the warning exclamation mark and the hazardous to the environment symbol.
